Changes in the plasma concentrations of free amino acids in relation to egg formation in the hen.

چکیده
I. The changes occurring in the free amino acids of the plasma of laying hens in relation to egg formation have been investigated in fed and starved hens in three experiments, each with eight birds. 2. The mean concentrations of most amino acids and of the totals were higher at night than in the morning. 3. In general, egg formation was associated with increases in the concentrations of nonessential and decreases in the concentrations of essential amino acids. Cystine and glutamic acid tended to behave like the essential amino acids. 4. After 40 h starvation seven amino acids, particularly serine, histidine and lysine, increased in concentration and only three, proline, ornithine and arginine, decreased significantly. 5 , When eight cocks were injected with oestrogen most of the amino acids increased in concentration. The essential amino acids (with the exception of phenylalanine), serine, proline, cystine and ornithine showed the greatest increases. 6 . The results are discussed in relation to the possibility that the voluntary food intake of hens may be influenced by changes in the plasma levels of one or more essential amino acids associated with the synthesis of egg albumen. Arginine appeared to be the only amino acid that might possibly fulfil this role. 7. It was concluded that investigations of changes in the free amino acids of hen plasma are unlikely to provide a useful approach to a study of the amino acid requirements or the nutritive value of particular proteins for egg production.

Olive Cake and Barley Malt Rootlets in Hen Diets to Improve Egg Lipids and Fatty Acids
The aim of the present study was to investigate the possibility of improving egg lipids and fatty acids composition of laying hens through inclusion of olive cake plus barley malt rootlets in the diets. Seventy, 54-week-old, Lohman laying hens were fed for a 12 weeks laying period on 3 iso-caloric and iso-nitrogenous diets contained 0 (control), 28.5 g olive cake (OC) + 25.5 g barley malt rootl...

Background: Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common endocrine diseases. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is one of the leading causes of death in patients with type 2 diabetes. The aim of this study was to investigate the metabolic profile of plasma amino acids in diabetic patients with cardiovascular disease. Methods: The present study is a descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study on 140 ...
متن کاملTheoretical study of the solvent effects on the thermodynamic functions of Alanine and Valine Amino Acids
Using Gaussian 03, software the thermodynamic functions such as Gibbs free energy, G, Enthalpy, H, and Entropy, S, of Alanine and Valine amino acids were theoretically studied at different solvents. First, the Density Functional Theory (B3LYP) level with 3-21G, 6-31G and 6-31+G basis sets were employed to optimization of isolated Alanine and Valine amino acids in the gas phase. Moreover, Vib...
متن کاملEffects of long-term frozen storage on the compositions of free amino acids and nucleotide-related compounds of the coconut crab Birgus latro
This study examined the effects of long-term frozen storage (-20 °C for 5 months) of free amino acids (FAAs) and nucleotide-related compounds (NRCs) in muscle and hepatopancreas of the coconut crab Birgus latro. Although long-term frozen storage had little effect on FAA composition in muscle, the amounts of several FAAs increased in the hepatopancreas that may be the result of protein decomposi...
متن کاملمطالعه ارتباط بین تغییرات سطح پلاسمایی تورین و بیومارکرهای کبدی در مسمومیت حاد با استامینوفن در 12 ساعت اولیه بستری
Background and purpose: Acetaminophen that is used as an analgesic and antipyretic drug can induce severe hepatotoxicity in humans following accidental or intentional overdose. Taurine is one of the most abundant amino acids in the body that is not incorporated into proteins but is found as a free amino acid in the body. This study aimed at investigating the changes in plasma concentration of t...
